There's no feeling like holding a piece of history in your hands. Sure, you can find mass-produced reproductions that
can be decorative, but there's no substitute for knowing that you have an antique key and wondering who owned it previously
and where it was used. The nicks and marks and patina add to its appeal.
A friend of mine recently
bought a Bible that had been owned by an abolitionist. She sells antiques online, so I asked her if she planned to keep the
Bible or sell it. She said it feels sacred, "a book owned and used by such a brave person." So she thinks she can get
a lot of money for it! No, just kidding. She plans to keep it.
I've been finding and collecting
"treasures" of varying value since childhood. As an antique collector, I love searching and sharing my finds with other
collectors. If you visit my online stores, you'll see I also like to feature vintage and retro items from as recently
as the 1970s and 1980s. I appreciate the midcentury modern styles as well as the fun, kitschy pieces.
I
also select and highlight great items from my stores and my fellow sellers on
eBay and Etsy.
